Aspyr Media, Inc. Creates 3D Game for Handhelds with Intel's Latest Multimedia Accelerator.

AUSTIN, Texas -- Enigmo uses Intel(R) 2700G multimedia accelerator to bring 3D graphics to handheld gaming

Aspyr Media, Inc., a leading supplier of interactive entertainment software, today announced it will work with Intel, using the Intel(R) 2700G multimedia accelerator to bring console-quality gaming to handheld devices. Enigmo, a unique 3D puzzle game, will be available with PDAs and cell phones, creating an unprecedented gaming experience.

Enigmo is a 3D puzzle game where various streams of flowing liquid must be manipulated so that the droplets get to their destination. Liquids (water, oil, and lava) fall from "droppers" and bounce around the walls of a mechanism. By moving and rotating the positions of various types of bumpers, sliders, accelerators, and sponges, the flow of each of the falling droplets gets diverted. A level is complete when enough of each type of liquid has accumulated into strategically placed pots. The faster each level is completed, the more bonus points are awarded.

By working with Intel, a leader in advanced technology, Aspyr will use their high-value content to showcase the performance of devices like the Intel 2700G, bringing high-quality 3D game experiences to handheld users. This technology represents a turning point in handheld gaming, which allows Aspyr to bring more compelling 3D content to PDAs and cell phones.

"With Intel(R) 2700G multimedia accelerator, gaming in connected handheld devices can reach a level of 3D gaming comparable with console performance," said Rob McNair, product marketing manager at Intel. "Aspyr's engineering talent is capable of taking advantage of this performance to bring Enigmo and other compelling games to platforms based on Intel technology."
