ASPEN/SNOWMASS, Colo. & WATERBURY, Vt. -- Aspen Skiing Company has selected Green Mountain Coffee Roasters to be the "Official Coffee of Aspen/Snowmass," as well as its newest Resort Partner. As part of the partnership, guests of Aspen/Snowmass will enjoy daily complimentary samples of Green Mountain's Fair Trade Certified[TM] Organic French Roast coffee at the base of all four resort mountains - Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk. Each year, the Company contributes at least 5% of its pre-tax profits to social and environmental projects that improve the quality of life locally and in coffee-growing communities around the world. Green Mountain Coffee Roasters has also been greenhouse gas neutral for over three years through the purchase of renewable energy credits.
"We chose Green Mountain Coffee Roasters because of its great coffee and because of its reputation as an environmentally and socially responsible company," said John Rigney, Vice President of Sales & Events for Aspen Skiing Company. "This represents a new era for Aspen Skiing Company. We're trying to partner with like-minded companies. We think our success can be their success, and vice versa. We're proud to work with another exemplary business, and to offer our guests a fantastic cup of coffee in the process."
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters will also be providing Aspen Skiing Company with its all-natural hot beverage paper cups. This revolutionary eco-friendly cup is lined with a bio-plastic made from corn, making it the only hot beverage cup made from fully renewable materials.
"We're thrilled to bring Green Mountain's gourmet coffee to the discerning guests of Aspen/Snowmass," says Jim Travis, VP of Sales for Green Mountain Coffee Roasters.
