Aspen's head of reinsurance looks to strengthen business.

Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited has named Brian Boornazian to the newly created position of head of reinsurance of Aspen. He will remain at his current post as president of Aspen Re America and continue to handle those responsibilities as well.

Boornazian's responsibilities as head of reinsurance will include the global management of property and casualty product lines across Aspen's reinsurance operations, coordination of business planning, risk management and development of business opportunities.

"I'm excited to take on the additional responsibility as head of reinsurance for Aspen, with the objective of helping us continue to strengthen and develop our global reinsurance business. I look forward to building upon our existing reinsurance underwriting talent and relationships through a streamlined reporting structure and by leveraging our established teams operating from platforms in three strategic locations, Bermuda, London and the U.S," said Boornazian.

He joined Aspen in January 2004 as president of Aspen Re America, property reinsurance, and has served as president of Aspen Re America since October 2005.
