Asian Paints Implements Informatica Solution.

India, Aug. 24 -- Leading paint manufacturer Asian Paints has implemented Informatica PowerCenter to create an unified product costing system.

Using the Informatica platform has helped Asian Paints to reduce the time required to run its costing model from 24 hours to 20 minutes, nearly a 99 per cent reduction in time.

The Informatica solution provides a consistent view of costing data across multiple disparate systems to power critical pricing and marketing decisions, cost saving measures, inventory valuations, demand forecasts and income projections.

Besides, it also helps increase productivity and opportunities for analytic insight with product costs being calculated concurrently, rather than sequentially, across all Asian Paints business units and five paint manufacturing plants in India.

The other advantages of the solution include reduction of operating costs, simplified decision-making around ingredients and formulas and replacement of standalone pricing system.

"The new product costing system, based on Informatica, has transformed our operational efficiency," said Maulik Desai, senior manager system development, Asian Paints.

"The Informatica platform can be continually leveraged across business initiatives and IT projects to deliver increased value," said Girish Pancha, executive vice president, Data Integration, Informatica.

Informatica Corporation is a provider of data integration software.
