Asian American Association Announces Alliance With Liberty Mutual Group; More than 800,000 Motorists Countrywide can Save on Personal Insurance.


Aug. 18, 1999 The Asian American Association announced today a new alliance with Liberty Mutual Group designed to enhance benefits to the Association's more than 800,000 members countrywide. Liberty Mutual plans to offer auto and homeowners insurance to Association members in all 50 states at a discounted group rates, where permitted by law(1).

According to Vincent Diau, President of the Asian American Association, this new alliance is yet another way in which the Association provides value to its members.

"Liberty Mutual is the best company in the insurance industry for service," Diau said. "The purpose of this program is to offer our members discounted, competitive insurance rates, unmatched service and efficient claims processing," said Diau, "and Liberty Mutual is the right company to meet our members' needs."

Diau also noted that Liberty Mutual is one of the few companies to realize the market potential of the Asian-American market.

"Together," Diau said, "the Asian American Association and Liberty Mutual will succeed in providing excellent services to this important market segment."

All Asian American Association members, along with their families, will be eligible to participate in the program. In addition to low rates, participating members are eligible to receive a group discount of up to 10 percent.

"With this alliance, we can offer Asian American Association members a convenient way to buy auto insurance at competitive rates, from an organization they can trust," said Joseph Aniello, Vice President and Manager, Mass Marketing Sales, Liberty Mutual Group. Participating members may choose to have premium deductions taken from their checking account, or they may choose to be billed at home. The program also offers 24-hour claims reporting and extended service hours.

The Asian American Association-Liberty Mutual alliance is effective in 49 states; Massachusetts approval is pending. The program is available immediately in the other 49 states.

The Association and Liberty Mutual plan to distribute enrollment information to members this fall. Members can receive comparison quotes and secure coverage by calling their local Liberty Mutual office or 1-888-200-0900, a toll-free number established exclusively for members of the Association.
