Ashes star is robbed.

Byline: Kate McMahon

ASHES To Ashes star Keeley Hawes was robbed by one of her former aides - who used her bank details to go on a pounds 7000 spree in Tesco.

Keeley, who plays the head of an elite police unit set up to tackle fraudsters in new ITV1 drama Identity, was shocked when cops revealed her own joint account had been raided.

She said yesterday: "I was actually quite impressed when it all came out, for managing to spend pounds 7000 in Tesco. I mean, how do you do that?" Clever The thief, who Keeley employed to work at her home, deliberately targeted a joint account the star rarely used.

Keeley, 34, added: "I would have noticed otherwise. It was very clever."

But the former friend was undone when an anonymous helper, who knew the fraudster, tipped off the police.

The actress has now been reimbursed by the bank.

She said yesterday: "The whole incident was so boring it would make the worst episode of Identity ever."
