Ascent Media Announces New Executive Appointments.

SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Ascent Media Group, a leading provider of creative, technical and distribution services to the media and entertainment industries, today announced the appointment of Robert Blatt, Senior Vice President, Product Development, Brendan Corrigan, Senior Vice President, Content Distribution and Transport, Mick Bass, Vice President, Alliance Management, and Mark Laudenslager, Vice President, Digital Media Operations and Content Management.

Robert Blatt, Senior Vice President, Product Development

Robert brings over 23 years of experience in product development and corporate strategy to his role spearheading Ascent Media's digital services initiatives. Robert will play a critical role in leading company-wide efforts to build Ascent Media's next generation digital vault, repurposing and publishing solutions, and new business systems. He is based at the company's headquarters in Santa Monica, California. Prior to joining the company, Robert was vice president and general manager at AOL Software where he was responsible for all major functions - strategy, product management, product marketing, engineering, quality assurance and operations - for AOL's Personal Media business which served over 12 million unique visitors a month. Previously, Robert has held executive positions at Accruent Software, Outcome Software, and Aspect Telecommunications.

Brendan Corrigan, Senior Vice President, Content Distribution and Transport

Brendan is responsible for Ascent Media's Network Origination and Playout Businesses across the U.S. As a 25+ year veteran of the Telecommunications Industry, Brendan will play a key role in expanding and scaling the company's global distribution platform as well as fully integrating its playout and origination business into Ascent Media's digital media supply chain. He is based in Stamford, Connecticut. Prior to joining Ascent Media, Brendan was an original Director of COLT Telecom Group, PLC where he was part of the executive team that developed COLT from start-up through a successful IPO. Previously, Brendan held various senior management positions at Teleport Communications Group, where he played an integral role in facilitating the CableTV industry's investment in and eventual purchase of TCG.

Mick Bass, Vice President, Alliance Management

Mick is focused on establishing partnership relationships with information and communications technology providers, digital media ecosystem providers, and solutions integrators. Mick brings deep experience in technology management and change leadership to Ascent Media, at a time when the course is being charted for the industry transformation of digital media services. Prior to joining Ascent Media, Mick was Services Principal Manager at Hewlett-Packard's Digital Entertainment Services Business. There he co-founded and developed HP's Digital Media Platform, and led HP's engagements with major studios. During his 20-year tenure with HP, he has held diverse roles ranging from Business Development, Strategy, Consulting Management, Management Systems Design, large-scale Technology Program Management, and Microprocessor Hardware and Software Systems Design.

Mark Laudenslager, Vice President, Digital Media Operations and Content Management.

Mark oversees operations for Ascent Media's digital services initiatives. Mark's extensive experience in the digital media ecosystem will help to further enhance the operational efficiency of Ascent Media's fully scaleable file-based solutions and better position the company to lead the industry standard for providing a superior customer experience. He is based at the company's 105,000 square foot Digital Media Data Center in Burbank, California, which is dedicated entirely to content management activities. Mark joins Ascent Media from Strategy Cafe, where he facilitated strategy development in digital media supply chain management and distribution, infrastructure, and B-to-C content delivery. Prior to Strategy Cafe, Mark served as senior vice president and chief information officer at Playboy Enterprises, where he developed and led effective asset management, content, and distribution strategies across online, broadcast, mobile, and publishing and enabled the launch of the subscription-based VOD business. Mark has also held senior leadership positions during his career with Walt Disney Internet Group, Servervault Inc. and Capital One Financial Corporation.
