Asahi Draft "Z" goes national in Japan

Japan's Asahi Breweries Ltd. announced the introduction of Asahi Draft Beer "Z" in the Tokyo metropolitan area and the Fukushima prefecture on March 5. With the addition of sales in the Keihanshin later that month, Draft "Z" has reached national distribution, according to it brewer.

The initial 1.4-million-case shipment of "Z" surpassed original estimations for the brand, and sales have now reached 4.3 million cases. Using these sales figures, Asahi believes "Z" will become one of the two main products of the brewery, ranked with Asahi Super Dry beer.

Demand for the beer will be met by producing "Z" through six-brewery production system with the addition of three new plants combined with the company's three existing breweries.
