Arts project aims to open doors for young people.

A GROUND-BREAKING arts project in Coventry is offering young people a positive way forward.

Youth Fusion has been set up by the Belgrade Theatre and Connexions Coventry & Warwickshire to use the arts to help city young people build their skills and confidence Audiovisual workshops run by Coventry's Frontline AV, drama sessions and fun exercises are being run throughout June and July for young people aged between 15 and 25.

Justin Themen, the Belgrade's community and education associate director, said: "Youth Fusion has been set up so that young people can access a wide range of arts activities such as video, drama, writing and painting, and then start to channel the skills, confidence and motivation that they've built up into moving their lives in a positive direction, whether this be into further training or work."

Workshops for the Youth Fusion programme begin on Monday, at the AUEW Building in Corporation Street, Coventry.
