Arts in Bartlett, 215 S. Main, Bartlett, offers a spring schedule of adult art lessons that include fusible glass art, beginning acrylic painting lessons, paint your pet's portrait and art appreciation sessions.
All lessons are in Arts in Bartlett's Community Room. More information and registration for all these classes are on the Ticket page of www.artsinbartlett.org. For information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or (630) 372-4152.
At 2 p.m. Monday, May 6, or 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, Cindy Bognar offers a fused glass class where you can create your own yard art with large garden posies. Choose your flower colors and get them ready to be fused on long copper stems.
At 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays during May and June, Debi Gajewski leads beginners in a series of acrylic painting lessons. Each session teaches skills that build on each other while you create a new work each week. Paints and canvasses are provided.
At 6:30 p.m. Thursdays during May and June, Sigrid Wonsil, artist and teacher at Elgin Community College, offers 10 sessions that cover "100 Must Know Artworks." If you've ever been curious about what makes a piece of art worth millions and its artist world famous, she will show through slides and movie clips examples of paintings, sculpture, architecture and photography of significance and reveal some little known facts about their creators. Reservations are required.
Pet Portraits are the subject of a beginner's painting class with Debi Gajewski at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1. Just email a good color photo of your pet's face with no ornamentation (hats, ties, glasses) to email@example.com by May 25.
Arts in Bartlett is an all-volunteer nonprofit arts council in downtown Bartlett. Its location offers two art galleries for local artists to show and sell their work, summer art camps and other lessons through Color My World Art Academy for children and teens, adult and children's music lessons in voice, piano, cello, violin and woodwinds, and performances in its community room, which is also available to rent for meetings and parties.
