Artists head for Venice.

Two emerging artists have been selected to work with a couple representing Wales at this June's Venice Biennale of Art.

Elen Bonner and Pascal- Michel Dubois will join forces with Welsh representatives Heather and Ivan Morison.

The project has been organised by Cywaith Cymru/Artworks Wales to create opportunities for artists from Wales to be part of one of the most important events in the contemporary visual arts calendar.

Elen, from Tregaron in Mid Wales, and Pascal, from Nelson, Caerphilly, were selected from an open competition as artist-mentees to assist in the development of the Morisons' artwork for Venice.

Throughout this month they have been working closely with Heather and Ivan in Coed Gwynant, an area of forest close to where the Morisons live, in Arthog, near Dolgellau.

Heather and Ivan's artwork focuses on recent research in California, Oregon and Europe into home-build travelling dwellings, temporary desert cities and the structure/shelter culture of the alternative society of New Age American Gypsies.

In early May all four will travel to Venice to build and install a structure.
