Arthur and Willie will help Cinders go to the ball.

CINDERELLA will be able to go to the ball after all.

For her transport has trotted into Teesside in the shape of newest Middlesbrough Theatre cast members Willie and Arthur.

The Shetland ponies were all set to go for last night's opening performance of the theatre's seasonal pantomime spectacular which this year sees Fairy Godmother Cheryl Fergison - also known as Heather from EastEnders - wave her magic wand over the proceedings.

Willie and Arthur joined rehearsals earlier this week and are no strangers to the stage, having previously performed alongside the likes of Lionel Blair, John Inman, Les Dennis and Amanda Holden to neigh"me just a few.

Teesside actress Katie Lowe, a former member of Middlesbrough Youth Theatre, takes the role of Cinderella.

"I am so thrilled to be returning to my home town and starring in Cinderella this Christmas, being home with my family for the festive period," said Katie.
