Art Resource/Scala Group to represent MoMA collection. (Up Front).

NEW YORK -- Art Resource, in collaboration with the Scala Group of Florence, Italy, has been named the exclusive agent for North American photo rights of the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York (MoMA). Inquiries for images and rights to reproduce the works housed in the museum will henceforth be fulfilled in North America directly by Art Resource. Scala will oversee and fulfill all other inquiries worldwide.

Art Resource is a photograph archive devoted exclusively to works of art of all periods. According to company officials, this new arrangement greatly strengthens Art Resource's modern art holdings. It is already the official North American rights representative for other institutions of modern and contemporary art including the Tate Modern, the Musee d'Orsay, Centre Pompidou, Musee Picasso, Musee Fernand Leger, the Musee Matisse, the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and the Alexander Calder Foundation. High-resolution digital images from these sources, as well as the MoMA collection, are available for searching, licensing, and downloading from

Michael Maegraith of MoMA stated, "We are pleased to be working with Art Resource because of their integrity and outstanding reputation as the successful representative of many museums and art archives."

Dr. Theodore Feder, president of Art Resource, said, "We are very pleased and honored to be able to make MoMA's vast holdings of the highest quality images readily available to publishers, educators, creative professionals and the media."
