Art & Life in Africa.
This complex and many-layered CD-ROM explores the way Africans make and use art at important events throughout their lives to solve problems, overcome adversity, and meet life's challenges. The abundant visual information included on this disk is presented in an aesthetically pleasing, infomational-sharing context. Interactive options allow the viewer to turn pieces of sculpture for viewing from diverse angles and initiate video clips of authentic dances and rites. All images and text can be printed out. A teacher's guide accompanies the CD-ROM and may be downloaded free at www.uiowa.edu~africart. This is an impressive and highly recommended resource.
