Arson attacks FIREFIGHTERS were early yesterday called to two arson attacks on cars in Wrexham.

A Vauxhall Astra was gutted by fire bugs in the Acrefair area. Wrexham firefighters rushed out to the blaze in Ash Grove, Plas Madoc at 1.04am but the car was wrecked.

In another incident, the engine of a Citroen Xsara was badly damaged in a fire set by arsonists in Stanley Grove, Ruabon. A Johnstown fire station crew was called to the scene at 12.49am.

A North Wales fire and rescue service spokeswoman said that both of the blazes were started deliberately.

The cause was "deliberate ignition".
