Arrowe Park NEW; PS1.6m revamp for hospital main entrance.
A MERSEYSIDE hospital is carrying out a PS1.6m revamp of the front of its building.
The entrance of Arrowe Park Hospital will be give i nanewlook as part of a wider "First Impressions" project being carried out by the trust.
The money will be spent on: ? A full refurbishment of the main entrance at Arrowe Park including flooring, lighting, ceilings, signage, new seating and reception, new toilets and new entrance doors; ? A full refurbishment of the main ground floor corridor of Arrowe Park from the Eye Clinic to the Education Centre, including new flooring, ceilings, lighting, crash rails, signage and redecoration; ? A new ambulance discharge lounge with its own entrance at the front of the hospital; ? A remodelled out-patient reception area.
The entrance area at Arrowe Park was last refurbished in the late 1990s, but general wear and tear means it is in need of updating.
Management said the redesign will improve patient flow through the hospital, as well as giving patients a pleasing first impression.
Chief executive i David Allison said: "We want everyone who comes into contact with our Trust to have a a great first impression so that they have a confidence in the care and service they will receive i . The hospital sees hundreds of patients, staff and visitors walk through its main entrance day in, and day out.
"The last refurbishment took place in the late 1990s and it's fair to say it has pretty much reached the end of its natural wear and tear shelf life. f "Creating an entrance and public areas that are bright and modern is what patients now come to expect from a 21st-century health service, and we want to reflect the high standard of healthcare that we provide.
"We have wo a rked closely with staff, f patients and our design team and look forward to completion later this year."
Works should be complete in the late summer/ earlyr autumn.
