Array Networks Adds High-Performance Global Server Load Balancing to Its TMX Series Application Front End Appliances.

CAMPBELL, Calif. -- ChinaCache, the World's Second-Largest Content Distribution Network (CDN) Service Provider, Selects Array's GSLB Solution to Enhance the Availability, Security, and Performance of Its Nationwide Network

Array Networks, a leading provider of secure application deployment appliances for Global 2000 companies, today announced the availability of ArrayOS(TM) TM 6.1 with embedded Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB) functionality on its TMX Series appliances. For the first time, enterprise organizations and service providers alike gain access to a single solution that combines high-performance GSLB, server load balancing (SLB), SSL acceleration, caching, and hardware-based compression in a single, cost-effective appliance.

The new GSLB-enabled ArrayOS TM 6.1 is currently shipping to customers, and the market has taken notice. ChinaCache, the world's second-largest Content Distribution Network (CDN) service provider, has already selected Array Networks' GSLB solution.

"For our national rollout of 51 service nodes serving prestigious customer Web sites, Array's GSLB solution offers the best value for performance and functionality at an affordable price," said Song Wang, president, ChinaCache. "It was an easy decision to partner with Array. This new solution helps us to improve our service availability, security, and performance, as well as increase server utilization. We can drive cost savings across multiple data centers throughout our entire operation."

"Until now, even large organizations have shied away from the high price tag and complexity associated with GSLB offerings," said Michael Zhao, president and CEO, Array Networks. "We have benchmark tested the ArrayOS TM 6.1 with GSLB in live production networks achieving over 60,000 DNS requests per second. This result not only exceeds the most demanding customer requirements for exceptional performance, but does so while delivering an impressive ROI and simplifying GSLB deployment."

Array's massive GSLB performance headroom sealed the deal for ChinaCache. Hackers often take advantage of opportunities created by high-profile events, launching DNS DoS attacks while networks are operating close to capacity. Deploying Array TMX Series appliances with integrated GSLB, ChinaCache purchased not only a cost-effective disaster recovery and network optimization solution, but also a built-in line of defense with the capacity to ward off DNS DoS attacks under even the most demanding circumstances.

Highest ROI AFE Appliances on the Market

Web-enabled services and enterprise applications can greatly enhance corporate profits and productivity, but the cost and complexity associated with successful application deployment remains a barrier of entry for many organizations. ArrayOS TM 6.1, with the introduction of the industry's highest ROI GSLB implementation, integrates yet another powerful tool designed to help companies cost-effectively protect and maximize their investment in Web infrastructure and enterprise applications.

"ArrayOS TM 6.1 further strengthens Array Networks' strategy of offering the highest ROI Application Front End (AFE) appliances on the market," opines Robin Layland, principal analyst, Layland Consulting. "With its new high-performance, security-enhancing GSLB functionality, Array Networks continues to bolster its strategy of combining solid security, acceleration, and availability features in streamlined appliances that deliver market-leading price performance."

Availability

ArrayOS TM 6.1 with GSLB is available on all Array TMX Series, TM and TM-C platforms, and is available to existing customers without requiring hardware upgrades or replacement. GSLB is available as a stand-alone product, or as an optional module on the popular Web Accelerator, E-Commerce Accelerator, and Application Front End TMX Series software bundles. ArrayOS TM 6.1 is available now directly through Array, or indirectly through Array Authorized Distributors and Value Added Resellers.
