Around the Classes.

CHILDWALL Church of England Primary School was transformed into a disaster relief centre as pupils imagined they were dealing with the aftermath of an earthquake. Announcements from the "prime minister" and medical and food centres, a communications room and survivors' area helped make the event realistic.

STUDENTS at Stanley High Sports College, Southport, enjoyed a visit from Nick Henderson from Corio Raptor Care and Rehabilitation centre near Lancaster. He brought in several feathered friends including a barn owl, a tawny owl and a huge eagle owl.

ROCK Ferry Library has hosted the launch of a new book club designed for young children with a visit from a very special guest.

The event was extremely well-attended and featured storytelling and singing, with a visit from Bookstart Bear himself. Bookstart Bear Club is a free membership scheme for all babies, toddlers and preschoolers aged five and under.
