Around Wales: Ceredigion.

SHOPPING is to be made easier for Ceredigion's less mobile residents. People in four towns in the county will soon be able to make use of electric scooters and wheelchairs fitted with shopping baskets to get around the shops.

Ceredigion is to become the first in Wales to have a mobile Shopmobility scheme thanks to a pounds 129,000 grant from the National Lottery's community fund.

The money is being used to purchase a dozen shopping wheelchairs/trolleys and a vehicle to transport them to Aberystwyth, where the service will be available twice a week, and on weekly visits to Cardigan, Lampeter and Aberaeron. The grant will also cover much of the cost of operating the service for the next three years.
