ARNOLD Schwarzenegger's "I'll be back" is the best line in film history, according to fans.
One in three said the quote from the first Terminator film was the one they most remembered.
It beat traditional front runners from Humphrey Bogart in Casablanca and Sean Connery as James Bond in a new survey.
Film lines leave a lasting impression and even enter everyday language.
Twenty per cent of those quizzed use "May the force be with you" for a departure and one in six imitate Rhett Butler's cutting "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn."
More than 500 fans aged 16-35 named their favourite in research for Velcro.
Spokeswoman Trudie Chadwick said: "It seems people can't resist a great cinema one-liner. We were really surprised at the number people recall, in spite of how old a film is.
"People use famous film lines to express feelings or even to replace an old chat-up line."
