Arkema to acquire total's coatings resins and photocure resins.

Arkema has announced that by mid-2011, it will assume ownership of Total'scoatings resins and photocure resins activities. The businesses involved in the purchase include the coatings resins of Cray Valley (Europe, Asia, and South Africa) and Cook Composite polymers (United States), as well as he photocure resins of Sartomer (Europe, United States, and Asia).

"In the last five years, our development investments combined with our targeted acquisitions have confirmed our commitment to the coating and paint market," stated Thierry Le Henaff, Arkema's chairman and chief executive officer. "2011 will be a pivotal year for Arkema: we will become one of the major suppliers to this market thanks to one of the most comprehensive international product and technology offerings. We will then be in a position to fulfill the specific technological requirements of our customers, wherever they are based in the world."
