Arkansas business rankings: executive compensation.

About Executive Compensation

Income figures for 1990 come from 1991 proxy statements issued by Arkansas public companies.

Salary figures include cash compensation and, in some cases, bonus and incentive pay.

Stock options exercised represent the difference between the market value of the shares at the time they were granted and the time they were exercised.

The figures for some executives include benefits such as life and health-care premiums, employee stock programs, profit sharing and retirement plans. Also included is reimbursement of relocation expenses for several executives.

Among recent developments:

* Beverly Enterprises Inc. awarded $100,000 each to David R. Banks, Andre C. Dimitriadis, Boyd W. Hendrickson, Ronald C. Kayne and Robert W. Pommerville when the corporate headquarters was relocated to Fort Smith.

* Arkla Exploration Co. granted $139,864 to Fred Roe in relocation expenses.

* Weldon W. Case retired as chairman of Alltel Corp. on May 1, 1990.

* Alan M. Warren resigned as president of Arkla Exploration on Feb. 4, 1991.

* William H. Bowen retired as chairman of First Commercial Corp. on Dec. 31, 1990.
