Meritus Health Partners, Arizona's non-profit health insurance co-op, is to shut down all operations on December 31.

The firm is closing operations after failing to source more capital. Meritus Health Partners was one the of the 23 health insurance co-ops created under the Affordable Care Act. About half of such firms have failed.
