Are you on the super lager? Superman and Batman nicked in B-test blitz.

Byline: By Amy Devine

SUPERMAN and Batman have been caught drink-driving.

The superheroes were collared by coppers while over the legal limit during a nationwide summer blitz.

But the wannabe caped crusaders were mere mortals on their way home from a fancy dress party.

Batman was, in fact, a learner driver. His tutor, who was also over the limit, was in the passenger seat.

He was arrested because he was legally in charge of the vehicle.

They were pulled over in the early hours of Sunday morning near Anstruther in Fife.

The men, in their early 20s, were among 331 pulled over for drink or drug driving.

Another 6766 were caught speeding during the two-week nationwide campaign. Twice as many were caught in the second week as the first.

Chief constable John Vine, chairman of the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland, said: "I am appalled.

"There is a minority that seems to think the law does not apply to them and they can behave as they wish when they get behind the wheel of a car."

The Scottish police service will not allow them to play a game of chance with their own lives and those of every other road user."

Fife Police also nabbed a man for speeding and drink driving on Friday before the same officers caught him doing 95mph in a 50mph zone while drunk again the following day.

In Perthshire, a man was caught speeding while four times the legal drink-driving limit, with his two children in the car.
