Architects create unique look for two buildings.

Butler Roger Baskett Architects has recently designed the offices of two large companies in Manhattan, giving them each a unique look.

Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP has relocated to new offices at 1177 Avenue of the Americas designed by BRB.

The 283,000 rsf space, which accommodates 375 attorneys, made efficient use of a pre-existing double height space to create a dramatic arrival area for visitors immediately adjacent to the conference center for attorneys and clients.

BRB took advantage of some less expensive space that became available on the concourse level with the design of a case room center and multipurpose room for larger client meetings, training sessions, and in-house presentations/functions. The conference center is equipped with technology for multimedia presentations as well as audio and video conferencing. The design also incorporates an attorney lounge and vibrantly colored cafe as center points to the highly functional practice and meeting spaces.

BRB's team included Laurence Marner, Partner in Charge; Jeremy P. Lang, Partner-in-Charge of Design; Andon George, Senior Project Manager; Brittany Whitley, Senior Project Designer; and Brian Ferrier, Project Architect.

BRB also designed a 52,000 square foot space that is the new offices of McKee Nelson, LLP, at One Battery Park Plaza.

Having been established within the context of the Ernst and Young accounting firm, McKee Nelson had an uncommonly open-minded attitude toward its new space, unconstrained by such typical law firm expectations as office sizes based on hierarchy and corner offices reserved for senior partners. In fact, the corners are reserved for conference rooms and other purposes, and all attorney offices are furnished with similar furniture, with a choice of components to satisfy individual work styles.
