Archer Daniels Midland Company.

Archer Daniels Midland Company announced that it has formed a joint venture with the Kao Corporation of Japan to manufacture and market diacylglycerol (DAG) oil in North and South America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Developed by Kao, DAG oil has been shown in several clinical studies in Japan to assist substantially in lowering body fat content. The new joint venture, to be called ADM Kao LLC, will be headquartered in Decatur, Ill. ADM Kao will construct a pilot plant this summer that the parties plan to have operational by November 2001.
