Arab League condemns Israel''s banning of Arab countries to take part in Al-Quds marathon.

The Arab League on Friday condemned Israel's banning of Arab countries to take part in an international marathon in Jerusalem."This exaggerated Israeli procedure can be listed under schemes to Judize Jerusalem," the league's Assistant Secretary General for Palestinian Affairs and Arab Occupied Lands Ambassador Mohammad Subeih said in a statement. The decision to hold the marathon was approved during the last meeting of the council of Arab ministers of youth and sport in Beirut. It came as a supportive gesture towards the Palestinian youth, he said.Terming it a "racist step," Subeih reminded the UN and its Security Council of its responsibilities, urging them to step in and halt these "treacherous discrimination acts" that go counter to human rights and international laws. The marathon kick started last night under the theme "Towards al-Quds", with 5,000 participants from both genders and all ages, including Palestinians, Arabs and foreigners.
