Aquatscutum of London leases full floor through Williams

Aquascutum of London, Inc., the quality men's and women's clothier, has leased the entire 27th floor comprising over 9,700-square-foot at 712 Fifth Avenue for its U.S. headquarters in a move which almost doubles its office space, it was announced by Williams Real Estate Co. Inc., which represented the tenant in the transaction.

Aquascutum is expected to move its executive offices from 680 Fifth Avenue at 54th Street, where they are currently located atop the firm's only store in the New York metropolitan area, in late January, 1992. Founded over 140 years ago in London, the company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aquascutum P.L.C., with numerous stores in Europe and the Pacific Rim.

The 15-year lease has an aggregate rental value of $6.5 million.

Andrew H. Roos, executive vice president of Williams, represented Aquascutum in the transaction. Jeffrey A. Lichtenberg and Bruce Goodman of Peter R. Friedman, Ltd. represented the owner.

Major tenants at 712 Fifth Avenue, a world-class, 53-story office tower at one of New York's premier locations at 56th Street and Fifth Avenue, include the flagship store of Henri Bendel and Christian Dior's New York headquarters. The owner is 712 Fifth Associates. The architect is Kohn Pederson Fox Associates, Inc.

Williams also represented Prestige International NY, Inc., a company which provides information and travel services to Japanese firms in the U.S., in a lease of the 44th floor at 712 Fifth Avenue in 1989.
