Aptus appointed to create cosmetic clinic in Jesmond.
PART of a development in a Newcastle suburb is to be transformed into a plastic surgery clinic.
Newcastle-based Aptus Fit Out, a specialist in commercial fit-outs and refurbishments, has been appointed by LASE Cosmetic to deliver its new clinic at The Jesmond, which is located on the site of the old Jesmond Picture House.
Aptus has been tasked with designing and creating the new second floor clinic, which will open later this year.
LASE Cosmetic, which was established in 2011 by husband and wife team Ahmed and Lisa Ali-Khan, provides surgical and non-surgical aesthetic procedures from its a number of sites in the North East.
Managing director, Mr Ali-Khan, a consultant plastic surgeon, said: "Everything we've done over the last eight years at LASE has been about quality and standards. The new clinic will be no different. We have always promoted safety, integrity and honesty in our industry.
"Of all the companies we looked into for helping us realise this plan, Aptus came across as thoughtful, honest and on point.
"They understood the project and their vision was very similar to our own."
Work will start this month on the PS250,000 redesign of the space, which will provide a range of surgical and non-surgical aesthetic treatments in a modern and welcoming environment.
The new clinic will open for business in the autumn and it is hoped several jobs will also be created as the team expands.
The Jesmond, a PS6.4m regeneration project, was undertaken by MK Partnership and offers a range of office and retail space totalling 2,000sqm which is being marketed by Knight Frank's Newcastle office.
