April taxable removals down 2.4%

Total taxable removals in April were 14,875,433 barrels, which was 2.4 percent or 369,788 barrels less than last year's total of 15,245,221 barrels. The total for the first four months of 1989 was 57,567,613 barrels, a 1.2-percent decline from 58,244,958 barrels in the same 1988 period.

Two of the 12 states and combination groupings showed increases in April with Wisconsin reporting the larger increase: 130,060 barrels. The largest decrease was reported in Minnesota: 72,280 barrels.

Taxable draught removals for April were 1,605,030 barrels, a 122,856-barrel decline from April 1988 numbers.
