Apricots galore. (Fresh Talk).

Customers were dazzled with apricots at stores across the nation during the California Fresh Apricot Council's (CFAC) display contest. Winning the Grand Prize was James Griffin, produce manager of the Publix Super Market in Palm Harbor, Fla. "His display was selected because of the way it drew attention to the apricots and the related item tie-ins," says Pat Ricchiuti, president of CFAC. "Apricots are a high impulse-purchase item and we know that if you call sufficient attention to them, they will sell quickly." The farm theme display reportedly sold more than 3,200 pounds of apricots during the 12 days they were featured.
