TELECOMWORLDWIRE-9 March 2009-Applied Signal signs CRADA with US Army(C)1994-2009 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Applied Signal Technology Inc (Nasdaq:APSG), a provider of communications surveillance and remote sensing systems, announced on 6 March that it has entered into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the US Army's Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Centre (CERDEC).

The company said the goal of this research collaboration is to advance airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities at both the strategic and tactical level.

Under the CRADA, the two parties will exchange technical information and test existing and developmental SIGINT payloads to better understand the performance of airborne SIGINT systems against signals-of-interest.

Also, this collaboration will also explore ways to advance signal processing algorithms and airborne SIGINT capabilities that quickly adapt to current and emerging missions and threats across the globe.
