Applications now being accepted for ADAF dental assisting scholarships.

The ADA Foundation is now accepting applications for its Dental Assisting Scholarship Program, part of its Allied Dental Student Scholarship Program. Completed applications and supporting documents must be received by the ADA Foundation by March 14,2014 in order to be considered.

The ADA Foundation will award up to 10 merit-based scholarships valued at $1,000 each for students enrolled fulltime in a dental assisting program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association. The ADAF will accept one application submitted by each school on behalf of their selected dental assisting student.

Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements as outlined in the scholarship guidelines. Among other eligibility requirements, dental assisting scholarship applicants must have at least a 3.5/4.0 GPA, either from a completed semester or for their work to date as of the application deadline. If grades are to date, the ADAF requires an official record of grades and an accompanying calculation of the GPA to date.

Applications must be received by mail (U.S. Mail, FedEx, UPS, etc.) with all accompanying documents in one envelope. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Notification will be emailed to the student and school officials on or after the second Monday in May. The list of scholarship awardees will also be posted on the ADA Foundation website,

These scholarships are part of the ADAF s Allied Dental Student Scholarship Program, which offers scholarships to students in accredited dental hygiene, dental assisting and dental laboratory technology programs.
