Appian Jeronimo Pro 4-Port Graphics Card Chosen for Line of HP Kayak PC Workstations; Multiple Monitor Card Brings Increased Productivity to Customers Desktop.

Business/High Tech Editors

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 13, 2000

Appian Graphics today announced that the Hewlett-Packard Company has chosen the Jeronimo Pro 4-Port as a standard option in the Kayak line of PC Workstations.

Specifically, HP will integrate the card at the customer's request into the HP KAYAK XM600 and HP KAYAK XU800 PC-workstations.

With support for up to 4 monitors from a single PCI slot and multiple card support for up to 16 monitors in one system, the card is well suited for the financial market by enabling access to a tremendous amount of information quickly. Powered by four Permedia(R) 2 chips from 3Dlabs, the Jeronimo Pro 4-Port provides users with instant access to text, graphics and video, and the ability to create and manipulate complex 2D/3D graphic images. Additionally, it supports DirectX(R) across monitors and has video-in capability.

"We are pleased to announce this very important design win for our customers," said Jim Greenup, vice president of sales, Appian Graphics Corp. "They have literally been `breaking down the door' for an HP/Appian combination. This gives them just what they're asking for."

"As a leader in the PC-workstation market, it makes sense to team with a leader in the multiple monitor graphics card industry, such as Appian," said Alain Amroun, Kayak product manager for HP's Business Desktop Division. "This winning combination of HP Kayak PC Workstations and Appian's Jeronimo Pro 4-Port card provides our customers with everything they need to take advantage of the benefits of a complete multiple monitor solution."

Benefits of Choosing Appian

Every Appian graphics card comes bundled with the company's patented HydraVision(TM) desktop management software and AppianXtras(TM), an ever-expanding kit of specialty tools that enhance the functionality and performance of the multi-monitor environment.

HydraVision lets the user manage and manipulate information across multiple monitors, with time saving features like automatic dialog box repositioning, multi-desktop management and SnapApp hot key window placement. Together, the card and software provide a complete multi-monitor solution.

By using an Appian single slot, 4-monitor graphics card instead of multiple single-output graphics cards, users can save valuable PCI slots. In turn, they receive higher graphics performance, receive multiple monitor specific support, and get the timesaving benefits from desktop management software designed to enhance their productivity.
