Appian Graphics Jeronimo Pro Multi-monitor Card to Support 4 Monitors With Video From One PCI Slot; Jeronimo Pro Now Available in 2- and 4-port Configurations.

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 18, 1998--Appian Graphics, the leading supplier of multiple monitor display cards, today announced its high performance 2D/3D multi-monitor card, the Jeronimo Pro, is now available in a four port configuration with optional video capture capability and Appian TV Tuner support.

In addition to driving up to four monitors from a single PCI slot, the Jeronimo Pro 4-port's optional TV Tuner support and video capture capability will appeal to financial traders who simultaneously view market changes, news feeds and stock analysis applications across multiple monitors. Others who will appreciate the new video features include computer aided design (CAD) users, multimedia developers and digital content creators whose professional productivity can be increased by expanding their desktop.

"With the Jeronimo Pro, users now have the option of extending their desktop across four monitors from one PCI slot -- a true space saver," says Lisa Epstein, Appian's senior product manager. "In addition, the Pro 4-Port's video capture capabilities and optional TV Tuner support is a breakthrough for those needing to view and manipulate a large number of video and text files simultaneously."

Jeronimo Pro 4-Port key benefits include:

-- Increasing the users' level of productivity by expanding their

desktop across four monitors from one graphics card.

-- Using only one PCI slot to support four monitors with video,

leaving other slots open to run additional expansion cards.

-- Displaying NTSC, PAL or SECAM video at 30 frames per second on

any monitor (including across monitors).

-- Selecting and displaying broadcast channels with stereo sound

via the optional Appian TV Tuner.

-- Jeronimo Pro is bundled with HydraVision, Appian's patented

display management software that allows users to get

the most out of their multiple monitor configuration.

The Jeronimo Pro 4-Port is powered by four Permedia 2 chips from 3Dlabs and on-board Synchronous Graphics RAM (SGRAM). The Jeronimo Pro runs under Windows(R) 95, Windows(R) 98, and Windows NT(R) 4.0 and supports OpenGL(R), DirectX(R) and Video for Windows. The Pro 4-port is available in the following configurations:

-- 4 MB per channel without video capture

-- 4 MB per channel with video capture

-- 8 MB per channel with video capture

The optional Appian TV Tuner is available for 4-port video configuration and is priced separately.

Hardware Performance

The Jeronimo Pro 4-Port is PCI 2.1 compliant, and supports 1600 x 1200 resolution at 16 and 8bpp with a refresh rate of 85 Hz under Windows 95/98/NT, and 1280 x 1024 x 32bpp at 85Hz under NT only. Display Data Channel (DDC2B) provides plug-and-play monitor connection and the ability to change monitors without reconfiguration.
