Appeal as robber on run from jail; NEWS WIRE.

POLICE are hunting a convicted robber who yesterday became the latest prisoner to abscond from HMP Kirkham.

Officers are appealing for help tracing Paul Trundle after he escaped from the open prison, near Preston.

The Huyton crook's bid for freedom follows a similar effort by David McConnell - a Liverpool man serving time for drugs and burglary offences who fled the same jail last month.

Lancashire Police urged anyone with details of Trundle's movements to contact the force.

A spokesperson said: "Paul Trundle, 30, from Huyton, Liverpool, is serving a sentence of 30 months after he was convicted of robbery at Liverpool Crown Court in November 2016.

"He is described as white, 6ft 4in tall, with brown/green eyes and brown hair."

Anyone with information over Trundle's disappearance can contact police on 101.
