Anwar's accuser says he was sodomized numerous times.
The accuser in Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim's sodomy trial told a Malaysian court Thursday that he was sodomized by Anwar more than once, in and outside the country.
Anwar, 62, is charged with having consensual ''carnal intercourse against the order of nature'' with Saiful Bukhari Azlan, 25, on June 26, 2008.
But Saiful told the court that Anwar sodomized him without his consent and was assaulted on several occasions prior to June 26, 2008.
He said he related his ordeal on June 24, 2008, to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, who was then deputy prime minister, and a senior police officer, ''to tell him (the police officer) that I have been sodomized by Anwar Ibrahim several times, in and outside the country, in Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok.''
Anwar has maintained that Saiful's admission of meeting with Najib on June 24, 2008, two days before the alleged sexual act, proves his claim of a top-level conspiracy.
Sodomy, even if consensual, is punishable with a maximum jail term of 20 years and whipping.
This is the second time Anwar has been accused of sodomy.
A decade ago, Anwar, who was deputy to then Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, was sacked and subsequently jailed for sodomizing his family chauffeur. He was released in 2004.
Then, as now, Anwar claimed the sodomy charges were trumped up to ruin his political career.
