ALBEMARLE CORP. POLYMER ADDITIVES
Offers Ethanox and Ethaphos primary and secondary antioxidants for use in a wide variety of polymers from thermoplastic elastomers and engineering blends/alloys to hot-melt adhesives and tackifiers, as well as polyolefins. Overall stability improves processing capacity without degradation. Both can be combined with other polymer additives in custom ALBlend additive packages.

Lactate-based neutralizers for use with all common antioxidant systems in polyolefins. Pationic 1233, 1240, 1250, 930, and 940 provide effective neutralization of residual metal catalysts and improve color and gas-fade properties.
Concentrates contain antioxidants, uv absorbers, and other stabilizers. Available for almost all thermoplastics in cubes, pellets, and powders.
Naugard antioxidants include hindered phenolics, aromatic amines, and phosphites. Phenolics include Naugard BHT, Naugard 76 and Naugard 10 for polyolefins, styrenics, etc.
Liquid phenolic products include Naugard 536 for use in emulsion polymerization such as ABS and Naugard 529 and Naugard SP.
Aromatic amines include Naugard Super Q for carbon black systems such as wire and cable, and geomembranes. Also Naugard 445 white nonstaining secondary amine for ABS, polyolefins, nylon and polyether polyols; Naugard SA stabilizer; and Naugard HM11 and HM22 phenolic/amine blends.
Phosphites include Naugard P and Wytox 312 general-purpose secondary antioxidants; Naugard 524 high-performance solid phosphite; and Naugard 492 phenolic/phosphite blend.
Weston polymer additives include various liquid and solid organic phosphites that function as hydroperoxide decomposers, metal-complexing agents, and antioxidants and offer increased resistance to heat and light.
Ultranox 626, 627A and 641 high-performance secondary antioxidants offer cost-effective, optimum processing stability and gas-fade resistance to polyolefins, HIPS, ABS, PET and other polymers.
Weston 619, Ultranox 626 and 627A have broad regulatory approval in PP, PE, PVC, and PC for food packaging.
Range of phenolic and phosphite antioxidants for various polymers includes Lowinox TBM6 thiobisphenol antioxidant, which has a synergistic effect with carbon black, for use in PE cables and pipes. Lowinox 22M46 and 44B25 are bisphenols widely used in synthetic rubber and latices.
Anox PP18, 20, IC-14, and 70 high-molecular-weight hindered phenolic antioxidants used in polyolefins. Anox PP 18 and Lowinox GP45 used to stabilize styrenic polymers. Alkanox 240 is a widely used hydrolytically stable phosphite.
Dry powder or compounding of antioxidant masterbatches from 25-1b to truckloads in all resin systems and additives combined with colorants to provide multi functional concentrates.

Irganox high-molecular-weight hindered phenolics provide long-term oxidative and thermal stability. Irganox 1010 and 1076 have good compatibility with polyolefins and styrenics and are FDA-regulated. Irganox MD-1024 is a metal deactivator and all-purpose antioxidant. Irganox 1035, 1010 and MD-1024 are for wire and cable.
Irganox B-225 and B-215 low-volatility, heat- and hydrolysis-resistant additive blends reportedly offer excellent processing and long-term stability in polyolefins.
New FS systems provide polyethylene fibers and thin-section materials with reportedly exceptional resistance to gas fade, excellent initial color, and a combination of long-term thermal and uv stability, in a phenolic-free stabilizer package. FS 812, a new combination of hindered amine stabilizer, uv absorber and hydroxyl amino processing stabilizer, offers gloss and color retention for molded-in color applications.
Irganox HP products are synergistic combinations of phenolic antioxidants, phosphites, and a new Lactone processing stabilizer. The combination results in improved melt flow control, allows for higher temperature processing, and can result in improved overall processing, heat, and long-term stability of the polymer.
New Irganox XP processing stabilizers are combinations of the new lactone processing stabilizer, high-performance phosphites and phenolic antioxidant. Irganox XP combines superior compatibility and solubility with outstanding processing stability and color control.
Irganox E, a vitamin E antioxidant for use in food and medical packaging offers superior melt flow and color control, low migration, and superior extraction resistance.
CLARIANT ADDITIVE MASTERBATCHES
Cesa-nox antioxidant masterbatches are formulated to combat thermo-oxidative decomposition at each stage of the plastic life cycle from manufacturing, drying and processing through to end use. Multiple antioxidant additives can be combined in a single masterbatch formulation to protect against different oxidative threats. Custom masterbatches also available along with masterbatches that combine active ingredients with selected pigments and dyestuffs.
CLARIANT CORP. PLASTICS BUSINESS UNIT
Sandostab P-EPQ high-molecular-weight phosphonite secondary antioxidant for polyolefins and engineering resins is stable to 660 F and highly soluble and compatible in polyolefins, especially lower-density polyethylenes. Broadly FDA-approved with low migration, it synergizes with sulfur and phenolic antioxidants and lactones and is not deactivated by fillers such as talc. Especially suited for low-water-carryover polyolefin applications like 2X100 mil slit tapes. Also recommended for applications requiring high clarity. Product continues to be used for all polyolefins, styrenics, PC, polyesters, polyamides, polyether imides and other engineering resins to aid in maintaining color, rheological control and physical properties. Sandostab P-EPQ also inhibits burnout of many borderline heat-stable colorants for polyolefins and engineering resins and aids in dispersion of fillers and colorants and extends uv stability of recycled resins by providing better physical property retention of recycled resins prior to uv exposure.
Hostanox PAR24 triphenyl phosphite secondary antioxidant offered alone or blended with Hostanox 010 and 016 as synergistic combinations of processing stabilization of polyolefins.
Hostanox 03 hindered phenolic antioxidant recommended for low-water extractability in appliance and nonappliance applications for extended long-term thermo-oxidative stability. It is synergistic with sulfur-based secondary antioxidants. Hostanox 010 high-molecular primary antioxidant and Hostanox 016 lower molecular-weight antioxidant recommended as processing and long-term thermo-oxidative stabilizers for polyolefins and engineering resins. Both are synergistic with sulfur- and phosphorus-based secondary antioxidants and offered as blends with phosphites.
Hostanox 014 primary antioxidant especially suited for polyolefin applications in thin and thick sections that need low gas staining and enhanced uv stabilization. Alone or combined with Sandostab P-EPQ or PAR24, it will not distract from uv stability of thin-section PP in fibers or slit films but rather enhance properties without the tendency for gas yellowing.
Hostanox 0SP-1 metal deactivator and antioxidant has stronger metal deactivating properties than other metal deactivators.
Phenolic antioxidants include Cyanox 425, 2246, 1741 and 1790 for polyolefins and styrenics. Cyanox 1790 high-performance phenolic is said to offer excellent activity at one-half to one-third typical loadings as other hindered phenolics. It reportedly offers excellent gas-fade resistance, melt stabilization, and low hot-water extractability.
Cyanox 2777 high-performance phenolic/ phosphite blend is based on Cyanox 1790 and hydrolysis-resistant tris(2,4-di-t-butyl-phenyl) phosphite.
New Cyanox 2888 antioxidant/phosphite blend is said to offer excellent melt processing protection in many resin systems and is resistant to discoloration. It also provides a high level of thermo-oxidative protection in rotomolded LLDPE applications.
Thioester antioxidants such as Cyanox LTDP, STDP, 1212, and 711 liquid synergize with phenolics for in-service stabilization of polyolefins and other polymers.
PTZ phenothiazine stabilizes unsaturated polyolefins, styrenics, PUR, and vinyls. Also functions as an inhibitor and short-stopping agent for acrylic and vinylic monomers. Xenoxyl stabilizer inhibits polymerizations of acrylic, styrenic and vinylic monomers.

Hydroquinone derivatives are antioxidants for polyether polyols. Eastman Inhibitor OABH is a copper deactivator for polyolefins, especially in wire insulation. Tenox BHT and Tenox BHA are food-grade antioxidants for PE packaging.
Nonstaining, nondiscoloring Wingstay phenolic antioxidants provide long-term protection against aging and degradation of polymers. Products are suited for rubber and plastic including solid rubber applications, latex foams, coatings and ABS resins. Some are suitable for food-contact applications. Wingstay amine antioxidant/antiozonants have low volatility and high activity. Suitable for high-temperature applications requiring resistance to weather and ozone.
