Anti-polio walk held in Parachinar.

PARACHINAR -- Anti-polio walk held in agency headquarter Parachinar to create awareness about polio among the people.

The walk led by Political Tehsildar Artazal Khan Dawar, Agency Surgeon Dr Moeen Begam. The walk started from Women Hospital Parachinar and went through Shaheed Park, different Bazaars and culminated on the same Women Hospital.

Talking to media men soon after culminating the walk, FSMO Dr Mumtaz Ali disclosed that Kurram Agency is polio free since 1999. He said during a three-day campaign the officials of the polio administered polio drops to 0.125.695 million children below five-year.

He said only in Upper Kurram, there were 226 teams in 50 different areas wherein more than 53,480 children were administered polio vaccines.

People from different walks of life including elders, religious scholars, teachers, journalists and polio workers participated in the walk.
