Anti-Taliban day observed; Ulema want operation against militants.

LAHORE -- Denouncing militant actions against the state and people of Pakistan several political and religious parties including Pakistan Sunni Tehrik (PST), Sunni Ittehad council (SIC), Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM) and Tahafuz-Namoos-e-Risalat Mahaz (TNRM) observed Friday as "Anti-Taliban Day" and held rallies across the country to show solidarity with Pakistan Armed Forces.
PST, MWM, SIC and TNRM held protest rallies in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Jhang, Chiniot, Gilgit, Sahiwal, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sukkur, Sheikhupura, Jacobabad, Nawabshah, Kasur, Jarranwala, and other cities. They applauded Pakistan military role for securing country and its people and condemned Taliban's terrorist attacks. On the occasion, Ulemas of different school of thoughts demanded the government to initiate a massive military operation to eliminate Taliban and urged the civil-military leadership to take bold decisions on the issue. Clerics of different political and religious groups criticised government policy to hold peace-talks with Taliban and termed the act as unconstitutional. "Constitution of Pakistan does not allow holding peace talks with any militant group inside Pakistan", they stated.
On the occasion religio-political groups also adopted resolutions against Taliban in condemnation of their continuous acts of terrorism.
The resolution passed by SIC demanded the government to start massive military operation against Taliban immediately. The resolutions termed Taliban as "Kharjiis" and asked the government that in order to protect innocent people of Pakistani must go-ahead to eliminate each and every Taliban from Pakistan.
It further stated that," Government should start intensive crack-down to get rid of these sacrilegious elements without discrimination of colour, language, ethnicity or race."
SIC leaders also described in the resolution that our far-fathers had played significant role in Pakistan's formation and offered numerous sacrifices of lives, wealth and assets. Due to their historic sacrifices and migration have blessed with Pakistan and we are determined to destroy forces anti-Pakistan forces.
They claimed that 180 million people of the land would become an iron-wall for enemies.
It also stated that if the government did not initiate military operation against Taliban then soon the proprietors of each and every mosque and Imambargahs in Pakistan would start country-wide protest movement.
The resolution applauded sacrifices and role of Pakistan army and termed them the best service for Islam and Pakistan.
