Anthea career blow after channel failure.
TV bosses had been chewing over a decision on what should happen to the Carlton Food Network for the past few weeks after an earlier partnership with Sainsbury's fell through.
Now it has been announced the pay TV channel CFN will close at the end of the year.
It is the latest blow to Turner's career. The launch of her food show Taste Today marked the presenter's return to broadcasting after months off air, apart from her appearance in Celebrity Big Brother.
Her BBC lottery show Big Ticket was axed and a Saturday night BBC1 show, Your Kids Are In Charge, with her sister Wendy, proved to be a ratings flop.
She was recruited to present her show for the Taste Network which was launched in September 2000 with a reported pounds 10m.
But Sainsbury's firm pulled out in August. The show continued on the Carlton Food Network, but the company had the future of the channel under review until yesterday.
Turner had posed naked to plug the show except for a few strategically-placed strawberries. Other setbacks for Turner, once a TV golden girl, have included the ridicule she suffered over a glossy magazine deal to cover her wedding to Grant Bovey backfired.
At the reception, they were pictured biting into a chocolate bar which was being promoted by the publication.
And an Internet firm run by her husband Grant Bovey went into voluntar liquidation earlier this year.
Matthew Kearney, director of business development at Carlton, said: "CFN, in common with many specialist niche channels, has experienced weaker than expected advertising revenues."
