Ansar Burney urges FIA to take notice of foreign stranded Pakistanis.
KARACHI -- The Chairman of the Ansar Burney Trust International and former Federal Minister for human rights, Ansar Burney, Advocate on Tuesday urged the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Officials to get release and bring back a group of 66 stranded Pakistanis from the shipyard of Dammam, Saudi Arabia by arresting the local agent in Karachi.
Ansar Burney said that the local agent recruited all such crew members to work on the Makkah Madina Lome Ships with the promise and allurement of big and pleasant dreams of handsome income which are proved to wrong and the crew members are compelled to live and work under compulsive and suffering circumstances like Modern Day Slavery.
With the advent of time the miseries of all such Pakistanis are increasing by day and night and their families are living in an anxious state about their safety as they have not been provided the basic and necessary facilities and are deprived of food, clean drinking water and proper medical facilities.
United Nations former Expert Adviser on human rights, Ansar Burney said that the contract of most of such Pakistanis have been completed but they have not been released (NOC) and did not paid their owed salaries of various months and are subjected to forced labour.
Ansar Burney added that he has requested the FIA to take immediate action in this case by apprehending the local agent to ensure the issuance of respective NOC(s), payment of the owed salaries and repatriation of all such Pakistanis back to their homeland to celebrate the happiness of Eid-ul-Fitr with their families and to be reunited with them once again.
