Another disaster in the making? FEEDBACK.

ACCORDING to media sources, officials in the US and EU are secretly negotiating a very large, influential and highly questionable trade deal which would put the profits of big business ahead of our welfare, health and the environment.

This is called the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, or TTIP for short. However, the reality is it's said to be more like a Christmas list for big business.

Although the negotiations have been shrouded in secrecy, leaked information suggests the deal will: allow companies to sue governments if they make decisions which negatively affect big business's potential profits (like capping energy prices, or introducing plain packet cigarettes); stop future governments from rolling back privatisation of our public services, such as the NHS; and relax the rules which protect consumers, our environment and welfare to much weaker US levels.

Although increased trade would increase some jobs, and could boost the UK economy, some critics have been very concerned about the cost and size of the benefits.

However, with the economy a key election issue for both David Cameron and Barack Obama, they've decided to stake their reputations on this deal.

Considering the dismal record of this Con-Dem Coalition government, this looks like another grand disaster in the making.

Considering this new exploitation game, it is clear the "Gagging Law" was the thin end of the wedge for this latest confidence trick.
