Annual meeting of ARAPAC on October 11-13 in Maldives.
In December 2010, a Regional Association of Public Accounts Committees (ARAPAC) was formed consisting of the Chairs or Members of the national level PACs from 11 countries in Asia including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Indonesia, Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Timor Leste, Thailand and Vietnam.
The first Annual General Meeting of ARAPAC was originally scheduled for Maldives in March 2012, but due to political events at that time in the country, the AGM was postponed to October 10-13.
Deputy Secretary PAC Secretariat Rumana Kakar will represent Pakistan in the four day annual meeting and participants would exchange professional experience of each other special reference to enhancing their check on fiscal management and appropriation of accounts of government departments.
Moreover, discussions will focus on devising and placing an effective monitoring mechanism to improve financial management through enhancing the working of PACs.
