Annual Naat Competition held at Rawalpindi Arts Council.

ISLAMABAD -- In connection with the sacred month of Rabi-ul-Awal, Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) organized annual naat competition among non-professional naat khwans.

Senator Najma Hameed, Tahira Aurangzeb member National Assembly along with Naheed Manzoor and Resident Director, RAC Waqar Ahmed, awarded shields and certificates to the winners of naat competition.

Famous naat khawans Malik Shaukat Awan and Tanvir ul Islam were the judges of the competition. The competition was held under four categories in which more than 150 students participated.

In the category of boys under 15, Hasan Ali of FG Sir Syed School bagged first, Baber Ali of Government High School Dhamyal got second and Adil Shah of FG Boys Secondary School secured third position while in girls under 15 category, Tasmia Jabeen of FG School got second, Aqsa Aftab FG Sir Syed School got third and Samreen Bukhari of Fouji Foundation remained third.

Similarly, in the category of girls between 15 to 25 category, Mahnoor Malik of FG Girls College got first, Sana Nazar of Govt Degree College Dhoke Elahi Bux and Sumaiya Batool of same college bagged second collectively and Bushra Shaheen of Govt Degree College Dhoke Mangtal remained third, while Tameer Hussain from Eden School remained first, Kamil Hussain of Hub-e-Rasool and Muhammad Ali of Hashmat Ali Islamia College got second, Saad Farooq of Quaid-e-Azam University and Muhammad Zubair of Allama Iqbal University got third position collectively.

Addressing at the occasion, Senator Najma Hammed said, "Love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) lies in the heart of every Muslim and our religion disseminates the message of affection, tolerance and brotherhood".

Tahira Aurangzeb, member National Assembly highlighted the Usswa-e-Hasana (the life style) of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) featuring love for the mankind.

She called for adopting the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for an eternal success and blessings in the life here and after. Naheed Manzoor also colored different aspects of the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). She stressed on the need for following the 'Sunnah' of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), which is the only way to bring the world out of chaos and restore universal peace.
