Anne Arundel Community College.

Anne Arundel Community College of Maryland has hired Stacey Siekels Heckel as director of development and executive director of the Anne Arundel Community College Foundation Inc.

Heckel brings nearly 20 years of fundraising and development experience to the job. She joins Anne Arundel after sewing since 2004 as director of institutional advancement at St. Timothy's School in Stevenson, Md. She also spent live years as director of advancement at Grace Episcopal Day School in Kensington, Md., and served as national campaign officer for the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.

Heckel graduated from Sweet Briar College in Sweet Briar, Va. with bachelor's degrees in English and in psychology. She was recently awarded the professional designation of Certified Fund Raising Executive by Certified Fund Raising Executive International, an independent organization for philanthropic fundraising executives. There are 4,700 professionals worldwide with the CFRE designation.

A board member of the All Children's Chorus of Annapolis, Heckel is a member of several national professional organizations, including the Public Relations Society of America, the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the International Special Events Society.
