Angus gets on ladder to ownership.

FIRST-TIME buyer Angus Shillinglaw is one 'boomerang' that definitely won't be going back!

A self-confessed 'boomerang child' - the term given to those who leave home to go to university or similar and then go back to live with parents - Angus has finally got a place of his own thanks to George Wimpey West Midlands.

He's just bought a luxury two bedroom apartment at The Avenue, in Whitley, Coventry, and says that now he's finally got a foot on the property ladder, he won't be taking it off.

Thirty-one-year-old Angus explained: "I get on great with my mum, but there comes a time when you have to do your own thing.

"I can't wait to have my own space again and, consequently, didn't hesitate buying off plan. You seem to get the best plots and deals that way and I'll always be grateful to George Wimpey for making it possible."

Angus had been looking for his dream home a while since moving back home three years ago. Older properties were initially considered but the sheer cost of refurbishment, maintenance and solicitor plus search fees - on top of his student loan repayments - made it a seemingly impossible situation.

But George Wimpey was able to offer him five per cent deposit paid and help with legal fees, as well as being able to cover the stamp duty cost - and when he got the call back, Angus admits to being bowled over.

He said: "I couldn't believe it, I was

thrilled but also relieved to finally get

somewhere of my own.

"The apartment itself looks very spacious and the specification is good too. New build gives you a blank canvas to work with and I can't wait to put my own personal stamp on the place.

Angus also paid tribute to George Wimpey sales executive, Sharon Carrington, who has helped him every step of the way - and often gone the extra mile too.

He said: "Sharon is very proactive and always keeping me up-to-date and informed - it's real personal service.

"As a first time buyer you need that constant reassurance to stop it becoming a really stressful experience."

Current availability at The Avenue, off London Road, includes one bedroom apartments from pounds 119,995 and two bedroom versions from pounds 129,995.
