In Luanda, Eduardo dos Santos Foundation (FESA) and the United Nations Agriculture and Food Organization (UNFAO) inked a contract for training of staff and farming projects.

"FESA is the first Angolan institution to sign an agreement with the UN system. I am very proud for the fact of being with FAO," stated by the UN agency's director general, Jose Grasiano da Silva, who was received in audience by FESA chairman, Ismael Diogo.

"The accord is for immediate implementation. We have identified the countries that will cooperate for the success of our deal, within short time," said the UN official.

As per the official, the implementation of the accord will involve the assistance of technicians from Cuban and other Caribbean countries and Brazil, with its EMBRAPA Cassava Centre.

"FESA dedicated a special attention to agriculture, during its scientific events held in 2012 and ever since various areas for cooperation have been identified," added by Grasiano da Silva.

In 1996, FESA was founded and it functions as as non-profit organization investing in the techno-scientific, cultural and social fields.
