(C)2019 ENPublishing -

Release date- 12082019 - Anglian Water will begin the installation of a brand-new water main in Scartho, Grimbsy next week, Monday 19 August.

The new mains pipe reinforcement will see a GBP900,000 investment from the water company. It will reinforce the existing water network, ensuring a resilient water supply for the future, reducing the likelihood of burst pipes and low water pressure.

David Hartley, Anglian Water spokesperson, said: 'Operating in one of the fastest growing areas in the UK, this scheme will help to support future growth, ensuring we can maintain current water pressure to the area as the population grows.

'This is just another example of our commitment to making sure that our network is fit to meet the demands of a growing population. This year alone, we're spending GBP33million on schemes exactly like this one to refurbish and renew parts of our extensive 37,000km network.'

The work will see almost 450m of pipe laid in fields along Station Road, before 3.8km is installed in fields south of Grimsby with pipework drilled under the A16/Peaks Parkway, Louth Road and Grimsby Road. The work is expected to be completed by the end of the year, however dates of installations are subject to change and dependent on the progression of works.

In order to minimise disruption for customers in the local area, the large majority of these works have been planned to be completed in neighbouring fields, reducing traffic disruption and noise impact. Furthermore, advanced warning signs will be put in place to notify local residents of the upcoming works.
