Anglesey finish second in Boys' county champs.
ANGLESEY finished joint second alongside Glamorganshire in the Boys Inter Counties Championship at Aberystwyth, 18 strokes behind the winners Gwent.
With the scores from the two morning foursomes and three of the four afternoon singles to count, Anglesey and Glamorganshire both totalled 376, while Gwent were on 358. Flintshire were fourth on 383, Dyfed fifth on 384, Denbighshire sixth on 387 and Caernarfonshire finished last on 404.
Ace Keiran Henllys brothers Adam and Keiran Warriner were round in 75 in the morning, one better than Rhosneigr's Keiran Robinson and another Henllys player Darren Owen. Their total of 151 left them alongside Denbighshire, six behind leaders Gwent.
Robinson, Owen and Keiran Warriner all shot 75s in the singles for a total of 225, while Denbighshire totalled 236 and Gwent raced clear with a total of 213, Oliver Mand and Joshua Davies both shooting 70 and Jack Davidson 73.
For Denbighshire Greg Purdie and Jamie Lloyd were round in 75 in the foursomes, one better than Thomas Williams and Dan Darlington, while Williams with a 74 and Purdie and Lloyd with 81s were their three counting players in the singles.
David Ramsey and Luke Wilson shot 79 and Danny Reeves and Cameron Peters 83 in the foursomes for Flintshire, then Peters and Wilson both had 73s in the singles and Reeves and Ramsey 75s.
Ioan Drosinos Jones and George Ledwith scored 82 and Tom Froom and Jamie Calvert 83 in the foursomes for Caernarfonshire, and in the singles Calvert and Drosinos Jones both had 76s and Froom an 87.
Warriner A combined Denbighshire and Flintshire team contested the girls Inter Counties at the same venue but could only finish fifth on 97, 25 behind champions Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire.
With three out of five stableford scores to count C&P totalled 122, eight ahead of Glamorganshire in second.
The D&F scores were Danielle Jones, 38, Rachel Wainwright, 31, Elle Price, 28, Erin Toft, 27 and Amanda Hughes, 25.
